Telegram Bot Notifications

To connect a Telegram bot to receive notifications follow these steps:

1. First we will need to create a new Telegram bot. open Telegram app and search for BotFather (@botfather)

2. Send a message to the Botfather "/newbot".

3. Give the bot a name.

4. Please choose a username, it must end with "bot" so we recommend using the name and just adding "bot" to the end.

5. We are done! 
    Copy the API Token.

6. Now log-in to your platform and go to Settings ⚙ > Users tab

7. Please choose the specific user for whom you would like to receive the notifications

8. Insert the token from Telegram and select the Telegram notifications trigger, and then press Save.

9. Now let's test it. 
    Go to telegram and send the bot a message by pressing on the link. 

Press start 

And send any message 

Go back to the Admin settings and press on the magic wand. 

If you got a thumbs up👍 all is set correctly. 

How to add your bot to Telegram groups: 

In order to add the bot into a group you will need to change the bot privacy settings and make it the group admin. 

1. To change the bot privacy settings go to Telegram and message @botfather /mybots. 

Botfather will return the bots you have. 

2. Select the bot you want to edit. and then click on "Bot Settings"  

3. Click "Allow Groups" and make sure its "enabled", if not change to "enabled"  

4. Click "Back to Settings" and press on "Group Privacy". 

Change the "Group Privacy" to "disabled" 

5. Now you can add your bot into Telegram groups, you will need to Promote the bot to an Admin of the group.
